Heights PTA is an association made up of K-6 parents, teachers, administrators and community members who work together to provide an exceptional educational experience and learning environment to help our children succeed.  We support programs and events throughout the year as well as providing funding for programs and learning tools that enhance and enrich our children's experience in the classroom.  Heights PTA funds and organizes family events like:

Our PTA also:

  • Publishes a bi-monthly eNewsletter to keep you informed;
  • Publishes an annual Yearbook;
  • Organizes the Reflections and Go Van Gogh art programs;
  • Organizes the Parent's Library Reading program;
  • Funds educational enrichment programs for all students (like presentations by the Perot Museum, Dallas Zoo, etc.);
  • Funds an Author Visit from published, well-known children's book authors (in coordination with our school librarian);
  • Funds Gym and Music Equipment; 
  • Funds the Beautification of the school, which includes a lovely interior ornamental garden and an exterior vegetable garden which is used throughout the year by the Garden Club;
  • Provides classroom items as requested by teachers (like chair pockets for kindergarten) and tools for the counselor;
  • Provides volunteers and contributions toward the RISD Council of PTA's Clothes Closet;
  • Provides this Website and the PTA Facebook page as up-to-date sources of information of events at the school;
  • Organizes the Back to School Supply Sale;
  • Appreciates the school staff and teachers with special Lunches, Holiday Dinners, and Treats throughout the year.
  • Provides volunteers for the RISD Council of PTA’s Used Book Fair.
  • ​Researches and solicits grants to enhance our school's resources (examples include: garden grants, grants to support education enrichment programs, etc.);
